samsung-sch-w420.jpgThe Samsung SCH-W420 offers to ‘communicate’ with you via 22 kinds of vibrations. Samsung apparently believes you can remember and distinct that many different vibrations. Actually the phone uses some of the vibrations to give you tactile feedback on user interface controllers. For instance, when adjusting the volume the graphic knob makes a clicking noise and vibration.

Types of callers are also marked with different vibrations.

Other features of this clean styled Samsung phone include DMB TV, 2MP camera and 3.2 inch screen.
The SCH-W420 is only 12.1mm thin.

AnyCall is offering the SCH-W420 in Korea now. There’s no word from Samsung on when it might be available elsewhere.

HTC’s Android device named “Dream”?

HTC is developing a handset called “Dream” that runs Google’s Android software, according to a report from InfoWorld. The handset is reportedly 5 inches long and 3 inches wide with a large touchscreen and a full QWERTY keypad that slides out from underneath the screen. It should hit store shelves by the end of this year.As we noted last week, the handset makers and carriers involved in Google’s Open Handset Alliance are probably going to start releasing launch dates and device specs for Android-powered phones at next week’s CTIA Wireless conference.

LG Rolls out Touch Web Phone

LG Electronics announced the launch of Touch Web phone (LG-LH2300) that features high definition wide touch screen for the Internet.

The phone, developed for cdma2000 1x EV-DO Rev.A service, has a 3-inch, WVGA (Wide VGA) touch screen LCD that support full browsing. Therefore, users can enjoy web surfing by touching the screen, using quick search icons for major portals such as Naver, Google, and Yahoo. An Internet hot key is on the bottom of the front and jog wheel for easy page scrolling, volume adjustment, and image magnification is on the side. The phone features a new “Hello UI” that activates menus by touch of icons.

Its camera sports auto focusing, anti-shake tech, face recognition. It also packs T-DMB mobile TV, Bluetooth 2.0, and micro SD memory.

A Dell Smartphone?

There is a report that Dell has been working with a Taiwanese manufacturer Foxconn to develop their own Windows Mobile-Based Smartphone. Neither companies will confirm or deny the news.

This will not be easy task for Dell to enter already highly competitive smartphone market unless they have an iPhone Killer type of phone that everybody will want to own.
