!!!! what!?!?! so.. did the ceo of nokia made this article??
Operating system: Symbian vs. Mac OS X w/ multitouch.. EVEN!?!?!?!?!?!?! i mean.. winner here is iPhone, not N96
GPS they both have a-gps, BUT, iPhone manages to merge that tech with Google maps, wich are user-friendly.er y mean here the winner is iPhone too,
and finally Princing. IPhone is like a 10th of N96s price!! cmon!! iPhone killer? keep tryin..
Symbian is being used in 2/3 of all the smartphone out there so it gets some credit.
Nokia also offers their own digital map from Navteq, which they own.
Pricing is debatable. iPhone makes you sign up for 2 years of contract and $30/month extra for the data plan is a must. That by itself is costing the user extra $720. You can buy a unlocked N96 for less than that and use it on any network with no contract.
Yeah but ! You will have to have the 30$/month Data plan regardless to use the N96 features ! the only drawback is the 2 years contract but I can live with that for the price difference specially that in the US you only have T-mobile or ATT that carry GSM and ATT is by far better ! so u d always be with them anyways
No Questions. iPhone is just the best option. The only thing tha makes Nokia N96 better is the Camera resolution. For everything else iPhone still being the best choice. It is just revolutionary.
umm, does the nokia’s GPS give you turn by turn directions? coz the iphone’s doesnt.
and does the nokia connect to your bluetooth car kit. cos the iphone probably wont.
music… might not be as pretty on the nokia, but it’ll sound the same.
oh and i assume the nokia lets you send MMS messages and probably will even let msn messenger run on it. iphone doesnt…
n96 wins.
im waiting for the n96 instead cos iphone is ordinary. the only diff between the new and old is 3G and GPS… meh. lamo.
and you cant even use the gps chip for navigating cos its only assisted gps. hahaha and a 2mp cam? thats so old school. and lets not forget al lthe other things it cant do. wow, big deal, it has a touch screen, sony ericsson had touch screen phones for ages like the p800 and p900 etc. you apple nerds eat to much cock.
i dont know what phone to buy now!!! so confuzzled
i want the best phone out there and until now thought the iphone 3g would be apposite to what i want. after having read this i am a little uncertain about which phone to buy. are there any other phones available or soon to be released that are better than the iphone3g/n96? if not i’ll definitely go for the n96… it looks awesome
I don’t think there is 1 phone that’s better than other phones in ALL aspects. You have to choose which feature is most important to you and go with phone that’s best at that feature.
Personally, I like LG Dare, Blackberry Thunder, and HTC Touch Diamond.
The only winner here is the Nokia N96, The iPhones are sooooooo over rated. Apple are trying to make it special by limiting availability by only supplying through carphone warehouse who want you hang you out to dry and steal all your hard earned cash!!
Just look at the registration process that went on yesterday, the website was not supported by mozilla!!! lol That just tops it for me.
This is pure manipulation. I don´t care. I will get the iPhone because I know that even an Apple sticker is worth an Nokia phone. Apple is Perfection. You can get your Nokia, prada, blackcrap stuff I don´t care.
You know before I owned an Iphone I used to be jest like you guys. Hating it because I dont have it and comeing up with excuses why other phones are better, but after owning it I realized that its the os that makes a phone. I have looked at and played with alot of “iphone killer” phones and you know what they all suck in comparison. Either the touch screen is laggy as hell or the internet on it is slow and crappy. The phones im refering to are the lg prada, voyager, venus, samsung glyde and the nokia n95. They are all either over priced (n95) or jest a disapointment (all the rest). I will embrace a new phone that is truly better then the iphone but untill then dont hate what you dont know.
The iPhone rules because it combines features, usability and support like no other device can.
Best support and integration via iTunes, AppStore, MobileMe, AppleTV, Push eMail… they are all seamlessly integrated and work well together.
Best Operating System, best User Interface, best development tools lead to the best applications. Best web browser, best email client, best music player,
Everything iPhone looks exquisite, iPhone works well and is the easiest to use.
See for yourself what it is all about…

The iPhone sucks!!! I had one for 2 fucking months…looks cool as shit, but damn is that shit lame. Before that I had (still have) a Nokia N95. One of the best fucking phones I’ve ever owned. My iPhone froze all the time, internet was balls, and camera, reception, and speaker volume was horrible.
N95, Beautiful camera, reception, speaker, videos, GPS, is the excellent. Sure the battery life is crap, but it still works great. And if I want to listen to music with some headphones, I don’t need iPhone compatible headphones, any will do, well as long as you have a 1/8 in adapter.
Connect to your TV if you want to watch near DVD quality video that you recorded on it. 8gb, plus an memory card slot if you need anymore. Oh, it also has google maps, awesome games (I have Fight Night) graphics look great. Interface is easy as can be, it can do anything the iPhone can do, plus more.
Only thing it doesn’t have is touch screen, but with all that shit, I don’t care. I haven’t even named half the shit is has either, so… there you go, from a guy who has had both. So, in my opinion, I think the Nokia N96 will easily kick the iPhone 3G ass, any fucking time.
Symbian sucks. After having had an E61 for 2 years I’m very glad to have got rid of it and replace it bij the iPhone 3G. Symbian will never beat the UI of OS X. What a pile of shit this Symbian. It freezes way to often, can’t find a thing and just configuring for example mail is hell. Never mind using the web on that thing. Impossible! iPhone-Mac suncing is the way to go.
All I’m going to say is obviously the iphone is by far the best phone out there otherwise people wouldnt be trying so hard to prove another phone is better. You never hear people argue which is the best phone the Nokia N96 or the LG Dare. You hear LG Dare or iphone, Nokia N96 or iPhone. The only legitimate thing you will hear is maybe Blackberry or iphone otherwise its just in what way does another phone compare to the iphone. Now I’m not saying other phones are worse in everyway they simply can’t compare overall. And the main reason I checked this site in the first place was to see what other phones had to offer, but the editor is so bias in his “reporting” that I can’t even take him somewhat seriously. What a joke of a site.
You have to read the About Us page to see what the site is all about. This is not a iphone bashing site. I try to be as unbiased as I can but it’s up to the readers to determine whether they agree with it or not. iPhone is a great phone, otherwise it won’t be nearly as popular as it is. However, there are lots of hype surrounding it as well and all we are doing is looking at spec vs. spec and feature vs. feature.
N96 better than iphone…
Iphone better than N96…
I think it doesnt matter since the N96 has not been released yet…
And there is not real comparasion until both are test.
If you ask to yourself…
is going to exist a real iphone killer?
The answer will be yes…
but is not going to be so popular as iphone.
Open your mind just try to be different.
Dare to be different.
I have an iPhone 3G and it’s a good phone. The iPhone looks cooler but it has less features than the n96 and it’s also cheaper.
this site is not biased in the least. not once have i questioned the editors credibility in regard to its comparisons of phones.
and to matt, i have enough money for a cheap $700 iphone, i just choose not to waste my money on it. id rather a $1000 mobile like the omnia or n96 as i believe the iphones features are lacking.
oh and nick, search the internet a little more. people compare phones all the time, this is how we as consumers are able to make an au fait purchase.
e.g.

The only quibble I have is saying that the iPhone 3G wins in the dimension catagory. I don’t get that. The N96 is smaller, slimmer and lighter with the iPhone only being thinner.
To Justine:
A friend of mine actually said that the N96 has too many features, there wouldn’t be any way to use all of them. I said the list of features were spot on. 40 hours of video, 12,000 music tracks, 2.8″ display w/16 million colors, flash video support (FINALLY!), live tv, 16GB memory thats expandible.
I can keep going but I will shut up right there…lol.
now i live in Jamaica… i gotta wait till any phone get to the US then 1 month after we get them. after using the nokia n80 i was swamped with the amount of features and flex ability the phone offered me. then i got the n95 then the Iphone… now i dont know if its cuz i got useto using all the features on the nokias but the iphone was pretty lacking in that department.
if you ask me the nokia n96 by far here is the winner compared to the iphone 3G… well should be based on the specs
Hello Everyone,
To all the deadbeats whose sole purpose of posting here is to sound like the phone they own is better.
Things you are doing.
1. Are trying to debate an open issue and the only point you have is that you own one of the phones.
2. State the quite obvious “tech-specs” that have already been stated here, in a fruitless attempt to prove something.
3. Are trying to add meaning to your life by starting an argument on the internet about some PHONE!.
Things you don’t know.
1. Every single person in this whole wide world does not have the same opinion. So stop trying to make everyone like YOUR phone.
2. The flashy touchscreens? are pretty useless in comparison to being able to play video-games on your phone. This proves the point that if you like something it doesn’t mean everyone has to like it better than anything else. Id like to see you have fun tapping on that touch screen for 4 hours.
3. The admin here gave the specs and his opinion. If you don’t like it go setup your site and post your own opinion or put it down here in the comments. Sounding tough on the internet doesn’t make you THE alpha-male.
Here’s a review in a nutshell.
Nokia N96 -> Lets me play video games, watch youtube, put my own applications on it, the usual gps shit, the usual multimedia shit, doesn’t require me to pay every single time I need something installed.
Iphone 3g -> Lets you tap on the touch screen and makes you horny, drool over the finish and feel so you can flaunt it along with your Gucci purse, the usual gps shit, the usual multimedia shit, lets you find out you need to pay for every other thing you need when you were being a cheap-ass buying a cheap phone in the first place. And finally you probably will never use the gps or other stuff anyway because you were too cheap to gout and spend some money on gas.
So tell me anything about the Iphone that I will like better than what IN MY OPINION makes the N96 better.
I currently own both the N95 and the iphone. The internet, screen, and thumb scrolling is what makes the iphone. The nokia is just a damn good all around phone. But I find myself with my iPhone 95% of the time.
When I go out of town I take my Nokia because the maps are preloaded and the GPS works without cell service. The iphone GPS will find you but you won’t have ANY maps!!!
OS is far more stable on the Nokia
I tell you I want a Nokia N95 or N96 with an Iphone screen!!! That will fix everything
nice post i have RSS’d you, please update more often… thanks
