The Q2 2008 reports are out. AT&T added 1.3M new subscribers from Apr to Jun 2008, while VZW added 1.5M new subscribers during the same period. Please keep in mind that the new iPhone 3G weren’t available until July 10th, which is Q3 quarter. It probably didn’t help AT&T that most people were waiting to get the iPhone 3G instead and not signing up during the last few weeks of the Q2. It will be interesting to see what the Q3 numbers are going to be like. You have to give some credit to VZW for adding more subscribers consistently even without the iPhone that AT&T has. What helps them is probably their reputation for their network and a slew of iPhone Killers in their line up.
