AT&T Inc. has filed suit against Verizon Wireless over its “There’s a map for that” ads.
The suit, filed in federal court in Atlanta, says the ads mislead viewers into thinking AT&T has coverage gaps.
AT&T wants a temporary restraining order against Verizon Wireless, saying the ads — which launched in October — have caused the telecommunications giant to lose market share.
The ad, in part, says “Want 5 times more 3G coverage? There’s a map for that” mocking the “There’s an app for that” television spots of Apple.
AT&T is the carrier for Apple’s iPhone.
