Garmin Nuvifone is coming. At least it’s getting closer. Today, they announced their partnership with Asus and renamed the phone to Nuvifone G60.
Garmin-Asus plans on producing phones on multiple operating systems, including Windows Mobile, Linux and Google’s Android platform, said Jonney Shih, chairman of Asustek, at a news conference in Taipei. The phones will feature a host of LBS functions, including services such as location-tagged photos and geo-directed social networking.
Nuvifone G60 recently passed the FCC in December 2009 but no specific dates, price, or the operator has been announced.
