According to Google, they are now shipping 65,000 Android based smartphones per day, and that they have over 34M devices in 49 countries. That’s a very impressive stats for a brand new OS started just couple of years ago, and gave away for free.
And the number of available applications for Android has now surpassed 50,000. It’s still well behind Apple’s 200,000 applications but they are catching up really fast as more and more devices become available and as more and more developers take notice of the huge potential.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Google Android one day take over Apple in both number of units shipped and available applications.
