Most people have written off Google’s initial branded phone, Google Nexus One, as unsuccessful commercial experiment. It was the first one of its kind running on Google’s own Android OS, which opened the door for slew of new smartphones from other handset manufacturers. However, Google did not sell through traditional channels opting to sell only through their online store but later pulling the plug without hitting any kind of significant sales.
This time, they are back with vengeance. Instead of the initial partner HTC, this time they collaborated with Samsung and running on the latest Android OS 2.3, or Gingerbread.
