Two observations:

1. This thread started almost a year ago.
2. Today (while googling something unrelated) is the first time I’ve heard of the Dare.

I think we can lay to rest the claim of iPhone killer.

The only thing that the dare has on the iphone really, is the service. Verizon’s service is better than AT&T’s, and the call quality is better on the iphone. But honestly, if those are the only main differences – and that’s what you are concerned about most, do yourself a favor and don’t spend 200 bucks on a dare. Just get a free phone with good call quality.

The iphone trumps the Dare, no doubt about it. I have had the dare for almost a year now. After using a friends’ iphone for a while I have realized that even though some of the hardware on the Lg dare is better than the iphone, the software on the ipod touch is just amazing. It seems like the software on the dare is soooo limiting compared to that of the iphone. As soon as I can afford at&t’s contract for the iphone I am going to switch. I am fed up with a phone that I can’t do anything with besides make phone calls. The dare’s applications are crap. it’s paint function is boring, and unintuitive. It’s games are overpriced and complete garbage compared to those on the iphone. The web browsing totally sucks compared to the iphone. Apple is definately overpriced if you look at just the hardware – all throughout their product line. But it is in the software that they really shine through. Now I have a dare that I can hardly do anything with. I would much prefer to have an iphone, and be able to do hundreds of better things.

I have the iPod touch and the Dare now.

I think that this comparison is a bit biased in favor of the dare.

The app store is much better than BREW and itunes is easier to use and has more content available than rhapsody and vcast.
Especially in the department of podcasts.

Also music is cheaper. $.99 > $1.99.

I like my dare but I’d still rather have an iPhone someday.

It is true. It is sad that the iphone fanboys cant accept the facts. The Dare, the storm, and the omnia are all iphone killers. Notice they are all verizon phones.

i have both. the iphone g has a few better apps but the service sucks. the dare is very reliable and works everywhere. I am much happier with the dare. I think most people will be also, if u get over the marketing idea of the iphone. You have been brainwashed with marketing to think the iphone is cool. when u get oast that u will realize the dare is much better.
