Google’s world domination has no end in site. Not only did they come up with an open OS called “Android” for the smartphones previously dominated by Microsoft, RIM, Symbian, and Apple OS, they are now entering the hardware war by making their own Google branded phone. The phone itself will be made by another manufacturer, HTC, who has already debuted many phones running Google’s Android OS.
The difference here will be that Google phone will be available as unlocked phone that people can buy and get their own service, rather than the usual way of buying the phone and service together from a carrier. The “unlockedness” does come with price as the carriers subsidize the price of phone with the service purchase but if you are to buy the phone all on its own, you will be forced to pay the full price for the phone.
