why is it tha nokia still use the 950mah battery with the N96 the fact that it doesn’t really work that much with the N95 in as much as am using more time with the N95 using the WLAN. so please make some revision of the provided battery…….
with regards to being “high tech” nokia should have made N96 with a touch screen capability. but take note guys the N95 is such a big rival with the iphone how much more with the N96……. i just can’t wait for it to be in my hands. . . . . !!!!!!

i am using nokia phones from past 5 years and i have changed more then 30 diffrent modles but i love using Nseries phones ,i tought n95 is the best but looking at N96 it has got a Amazing features i would love to have one as soon as it Releases

I doubt N96 will support Excel, Word type of docs. The OS is going to be Symbian based, not Windows Mobile.
Ah, it might have all these fantastic features, and we’ve already talked about the not-so-hot battery life… what I want to know is this: can it heat my frozen foods items for me better than a microwave? And will it wash my car for me better than my poor teenage neighbor? Hook that up Nokia, and I’ll buy two.

@ jimbagz – size constraints probably mean that 3x optical zoom isn’t avaiable. You don’t see ANY front-running mobiles with this functionality because the motors which drive the zoom function would take up too much room inside the phone which is already crammed full of non-phone fundamental goodies (Bluetooth, WiFi, AGPS, IR ports, etc)
On a side note, I saw this is relation to the flash unit on the N96.

The link isn’t working as is. You have to manually type “!.html” after the “LEDs”
That would be interesting. The mock up of N96 I saw didn’t look like that but Nokia can change the design anytime they want since it’s not an official product yet.
Wow, this N96 looks so awesome. Also looks like it’ll be extremely expensive.

But the N95 has S60 software on Symbian OS too and have Office init so that it can read Excel and Word documents…
I hope it will be the same so that I can buy it for work…
is N96 supporting only microSD HC cards?

Will Nokia ever come out with a phone with a full qwerty board not to bad mouth the N800, 812 series but a real phone like the N95, N96?

you may try ebay to get it at immensely high costs or stick with the waiting.

@aa11a1a1 (a bit above): It has a 16GB hard drive AND a slot for Micro SD’s up to an extra 8GB (–> total 24GB) and jes, they did cancel infrared.
I think in the first third, there was a question about the LED’s. My oppinion is that they wont match a xenon flash but since they will (unlike the flash) work with the video function it will be a small minus for taking fotos and a huge plus for taking videos.

@ manu – N96 was announced in February 2008. It is perhaps going to make history for its features. The phone has some features which you will find it hard to believe till you hold the phone in your hand. The dual slide phone makes it very convenient for the user to slide and use the various functions with ease. The keypad enables you reply emails, write data, write memory, diary, appointments and many things. The phone is is a mini computer which can make you access to internet, files like word, excel, powerpoint, and PDF……i got it fm www.nokian96.worldpress.com

it said it is going to be released in the UK in q3 but in places like carephone warehouse is said it is expected to be released in august.

also the price at the moment (as people are preordering it) are around £600 ($1200)
WHY THE BATTERY IS THE SAME AS THE N95
and the reason that they have used the same battery as the n95 is because otherwise they would have the make the phone bigger and that would ruin the sleek look of the phone

Just about every other comment is asking when it will be released somewhere and how much it will cost. We are in the dark as much as everyone else. The only people that know an EXACT release date and the cost are people from Nokia.
I myself was looking to get a iPhone 3G but after looking around the internet and finding this sexy phone I’m holding out for the N96. In fact, I have one pre-ordered.

my absolute FAVORITEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE iphone killer. everything to me is perfect. audio and music is great, camera is great, design is sexy, interface is great. honestly this phone is soooo amazing. i guess u can say im a bit of a nokia fan boy, but this phone is sooo hot its like the only thread thats received EIGHTY THREE COMMENTS! my god. its soo cool and the nokia n95 is already kickin the iphones ass. this one will banish all apple fan boys for good.
