When we started this blog, there were only a handful phones that were worthy of being called iPhone Killers. Now, there are just too many and several of them have been improved upon the older versions. So, we are going to put the outdated phones under the Archived Phone section for future reference but will not be seen on the menu by itself.

Apple has released a software update for the iPhone today and iPhoneBuzz has done a side by side comparison between the new version 2.01 vs. the old version 2.0. Apparently, the new update performs quite well.

LG and Dolby

LG signed an agreement with Dolby Laboratories today that will allow the adding all the audio processing technology of Dolby Mobile to be included in future LG phones. Now LG will be able to offer such features as Mobile Surround, Sound Space Expander, Natural Bass, High Frequency Enhancer, Graphic EQ, Sound Level Control, and Mono to Stereo Converter. The first phone with such feature will start to ship around end of this year. LG just upped an ante on becoming the true iPhone Killer. Let’s see if Apple has anything up their sleeves to counter this.

iPhone with keyboards?

According to The Register, Apple has sent working prototypes of iPhones with hardware keyboards to senior executives at some wireless carriers to get their feedback.

iPhone with keyboards? Wasn’t the whole appeal of the iPhone the fact that it was all touchscreen without any hardware buttons? Now, it seems they want to go after the business type. Can Apple satisfy both the cool and heap along with suit and executives-on-the-go?
