Apple has released a software update for the iPhone today and iPhoneBuzz has done a side by side comparison between the new version 2.01 vs. the old version 2.0. Apparently, the new update performs quite well.

iPhone with keyboards?

According to The Register, Apple has sent working prototypes of iPhones with hardware keyboards to senior executives at some wireless carriers to get their feedback.

iPhone with keyboards? Wasn’t the whole appeal of the iPhone the fact that it was all touchscreen without any hardware buttons? Now, it seems they want to go after the business type. Can Apple satisfy both the cool and heap along with suit and executives-on-the-go?

The Swedish manufacturer of carrying cases for portable electronics, Krusell, has released their “Top 10″-list for June 2008. The list is based upon the number of pieces of model specific mobile and smart phone cases that have been ordered from Krusell during June 2008.

Krusell’s list is unique due to the fact that it reflects the sales of phones on six continents and in more than 50 countries around the globe.

No route guidance and fleet management for iPhone Apps

According to the latest iPhone SDK, the developers have to agree not to develop real time route guidance or fleet management type of applications. Not sure exactly why Apple is doing this, but could it be that they already have a deal with large third party companies that already do this? (TomTom or Garmin?)

Who’s number 1 in smartphone market?

If you said Apple iPhone, you are wrong. According to IDC, RIM (Blackberry maker) had commanding 44% market share in Q1 2008 compared to iPhone’s 19.2%. Who’s number 3? Palm.
