With losing market share to Blackberry, iPhone, and Google Android, Microsoft is not sitting still with their Windows Mobile OS. At the MWC, they have introduced a brand new OS called Windows Phone 7 Series.

Take a look at this survey over 3 months (from Sep 2009 to Dec 2009) and you’ll see the big jump in percentage of people who would buy Android based phone from 6% to 21%. It’s also interesting to note during the same period, people who would buy Apple iPhone dropped from 32% to 28%.

Windows Mobile 7 coming in 2010? »

It appears Microsoft is falling behind on keeping up with the Mobile OS war as they are now saying that the Windows Mobile 7 will not launch until late 2010 at best. Not much details on its features yet but let’s hope it can stay toe to toe with Symbian, Android, and Apple’s own OS.
