As you can see, it’s not just the initial price of the phone that will cost you, but you also have to count for the cost of ownership for the duration of the contract.
Here is the video put out by Sprint for promoting their iPhone Killer Samsung Instinct where bloggers can make $20 to blog about it or make $10,000 for making the best video.
Sprint says demand is high for its new Samsung Instinct touchscreen EVDO device. The phone, which first became available to Sprint customers June 19 and available to all customers on June 20, is breaking sales records. Sales are so strong, in fact, that the carrier has sold more Instinct handsets in its first week than any other EVDO device, breaking pre-existing sales records. The strong sales have led to some temporary shortages at some store locations.
Sprint is really determined to stop losing more subscribers to other carriers by promoting their version of iPhone Killer, Samsung Instinct. They are already selling these at $70 lower than Apple iPhone 3G and Verizon’s upcoming LG Dare. Sprint must feel it’s not enough as they will be paying bloggers $20 to blog about Samsung Instinct and offer $10,000 to the best video promoting their phone.
The campaign is called “Sellout” and more details to come next Monday.
Originally, the price was announced to be $199.99. However, after the 3G iPhone price is set for $199.99, Sprint has reduced the price of their iPhone Killer to be much less at $129.99, with $100 mail in rebate. It should be interesting to see how Samsung Instinct will be received by the Sprint who’s been losing a lot customers lately.
Sprint must be feeling the pressure from the recent Apple 3G iPhone priced at $199. They lowered the expected price of their Samsung Instinct from $299 to $199, after mail in rebate.
