It appears the iPhone Killer from Toshiba is finally headed to America. FCC has just reported that Toshiba TG01 has passed FCC requirement needed for US. No word yet on who the lucky carrier will be. Since this is a CDMA phone, two possibilities are Sprint and Verizon but who knows.

Toshiba has finally launched the long awaited TG01 in Japan on Docomo today. This is world’s first iPhone Killer based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platform running at 1Ghz. It is also the first iPhone Killer with 4.1 inch touchscreen display. Check out the cool video demo of the Japanese version of TG01. No words yet on when this phone will be available elsewhere.

Toshiba’s iPhone Killer – TG01

The latest big news in the iPhone Killer world is the new entrant from Toshiba. And it has the specs to prove that it deserves big attention. We are talking about 4.1-inch WVGA 800 x 480 384k pixel resistive touchscreen. What else? How about Windows Mobile 6.1, 3G HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS and A-GPS. The other reason why it was headlined was because it will be the first phone running on Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon chip.

The TG01 will have a virtual track pad for web navigation and speaking of the internet, this device will have Internet Explorer Mobile 6 which includes full support for Flash. Like many other smartphones in its class, the unit will respond to gestures, but the TG01 will also hang up and answer calls by shaking the device. The model is expected to ship with apps to YouTube, Google and Facebook and the GUI will be set up for one handed use, featuring vertical panels. Toshiba says to expect the TG01 to be out in Europe this Summer and no carrier or price has been announced.
